J. Scott Backes
President
Mr. Backes oversees the vision, strategy, and execution of Brydant Real Estate. He also serves Brydant’s clients and partners through strategic programming, project analysis, design, and finance of real estate and development projects. He has over 24 years of experience in Corporate Management, Real Estate, and Real Estate Development.
Early in his career, Scott worked in the engineering departments of two Fortune 500 Companies Honeywell (HON) & Medtronic (MDT). He later transitioned his skill-sets and passion for real estate to civil engineering and land planning where he gained over 14 years of diverse experience in industrial, commercial, and master-planned community development.
Scott’s understanding of corporate strategy led to his focus on the representation of corporations in real estate transactions. Scott’s most recent projects have been the ground-up development of a 654,000 Square Foot Manufacturing facility for their client Brooklyn Bedding and a 209,000 SF manufacturing build-out for Connecticut based Fairfield Processing Corporation.
Scott did his undergraduate studies at Arizona Christian University and graduate studies at the Harvard Graduate School of Design and Harvard Business School. As an active member of Harvard Alumni, he serves on the board of directors of the Harvard Club of Phoenix and has previously served as President. Scott and his wife Jennifer love to mountain bike, have a blended family of six kids, and have served as foster parents in the State of Arizona.
